  19. It depends, the Motorola only allows te following:

  21. LAPM->MNP->NONE
  22.  
  23. so in order to get a V42bis comperssion over a MNP4
  24. link the other modem woul dhave to be set for MNP 
  25. only as the Motorola cannot do this and will always
  26. try to get V42 before MNP. At least that is the way 
  27. I read the manual

  31. Thats the least of youre worries in my experience
  32. with this modem in Aus.
